Our Story
Buyofu Nairobi Brothers started as a small gathering of friends who wanted to break the cycle of financial exclusion. We recognized that access to affordable credit and a culture of saving were the keys to prosperity. Over the years, what started as a small chama has grown into a structured, registered organization that has helped hundreds of members buy land, expand businesses, educate their children, and achieve financial milestones they once thought impossible.

Leadership: The Elected Officials
We believe in democratic leadership. Every year, during our Annual General Meeting (AGM), members vote for three key leaders to steward the organization for the next term. Our leadership is accountable to the members and operates on a mandate of transparency.

• The Chairman

  • Role: The head of the organization.

  • Duties: Presides over all meetings, ensures order and decorum, guides the strategic direction of the group, represents Buyofu Nairobi Brothers in external matters, and acts as the final arbiter in disputes. The Chairman ensures that the group adheres to its constitution.

• The Secretary

  • Role: The administrative backbone.

  • Duties: Records minutes during meetings, manages official correspondence, maintains the membership register, issues notices for contributions and meetings, and ensures that the group’s records are up to date for audits and the AGM.

  • Role: The custodian of our funds.

  • Duties: Collects all contributions, disburses loans, manages the bank account, maintains accurate financial books, provides financial reports at every meeting, and presents the annual financial statement at the AGM.

Our Constitution
We operate under a formal constitution that governs our operations, elections, dispute resolution, and financial management. A copy is available to all members upon joining.
